The therapists in our Adolescent and Children’s Center work with parents by providing quality counseling services that help children, adolescents, and the whole family. We know that parents are concerned about securing a healthy future for their children. Desert Streams provides a safe place for your child to deal with their concerns through play therapy. Play therapy helps children express emotions and thoughts in the most non-intrusive, safe and natural manner possible. Desert Streams has a special play therapy room devoted to helping children in which children can express themselves and their emotions through play. An Attachment Parenting Class will be offered in the Fall. Barry Brigham, Director of Children Services, will be offering this parenting class. Comments from parents who have taken this class from Barry have indicated it was very informative and valuable and they wish the class had been available years ago. Barry teaches practical steps for dealing with the issues of parenting as he draws on material from Love and Logic Parenting, and adds his own material on attachment which brings important parenting concepts into understandable and usable form.
